George W. "Nordie" Norwood
George W. "Nordie" Norwood brings
to PAL a wealth of experience in the military, international,
and business arenas. His business experience includes over
10 years serving as the President and CEO of a Florida based
aviation and defense consulting and representation firm. In
this capacity, he provides technical advice and strategic planning
expertise to corporations pursuing aviation and defense related
opportunities. He also provides representational services to
corporations seeking a presence at—and interface with—joint,
unified, and interagency organizations, commands and installations.
Nordie's military experience spanned a career
of over 30 years in the U.S. Air Force. He served in numerous
operational, command, and staff positions to include commanding
an F-16 squadron in Korea and three operational F-16 wings
in Germany and Japan. His joint experience included service
as a carrier qualified fighter pilot on exchange with the U.
S. Navy and as a jump qualified Forward Air Controller with
the U. S. Army. His 4,000+ flight hours in attack and fighter
aircraft (A-1, A-37, F-4 and F-16) include over 450 combat
missions.
As Deputy Inspector General of the Air Force,
he developed criteria for all Field Inspections of Air Force
units and installations. He has managed large-budget installations
requiring close community coordination, interface and proactive
solutions. As a general officer, he coordinated the crucial
Reception, Staging, Onward Movement and Integration of reinforcing
personnel and equipment for critical operational installations
in the Republic of Korea and served as the senior U. S. member
of the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission.
Nordie is on the Board of Directors of Airborne
Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC), of Scalable Network Technologies
and of WidePoint Corporation—and on the Board of Strategic
Advisors for AtHoc. He maintains affiliations with the Air
Force Association, Armed Forces Communications and Electronics
Association, Association of Old Crows, Association of the United
States Army (AUSA), National Defense Industrial Association,
Military Officers Association of America, Order of Daedalians
and Air Commando Association (ACA).
He holds a BA degree (Mathematics) from San
Diego State University, an MBA (Management) from Golden Gate
University, and is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute
(Spanish) and the National War College. Nordie retired from
the U. S. Air Force as a Major General.
