Lawrence V. McBean
Lawrence McBean has over twenty-eight years of professional
experience in government affairs, medical logistics and procurement,
medical technology and sensor integration, disaster management
and biological-chemical defense activities He brings to Peduzzi
Associates, Ltd. a broad background of experience which spans
the medical and homeland security communities.
Lawrence is retired from the United States Army where he spent
over twenty years in the Army Medical Department. He served
in a variety of assignments around the country and overseas.
He held various assignments to include Garrison Sergeant Major,
Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He managed the garrison activities
for resource management, military operations, medical readiness,
physical and personnel security, safety and risk management,
as well as medical logistics and procurement. Prior to that
assignment, he served as the First Sergeant managing the day-to-day
operations of 225 medical research residents to include physical
security, safety, and managed accountability of a multi-million
dollar installation equipment budget.
Lawrence was privileged to be nominated to
serve on the Armed Forces Inaugural committee for the 1994
election, serving as the primary operations specialist working
within the J-3 operations cell. He managed the coordination
of special events, White House arrivals and worked closely
with the United States Secret Service providing site evaluations
for first family, second family and congressional members.
Lawrence also had the honor of serving with the “OLD
GUARD”, 3rd US Infantry,
Military District of Washington ceremonial affairs. During
his military career, Lawrence served with a variety of Command
groups (medical and aviation) as well as Department of Defense
assignments.
Lawrence then spent eight years in project management and
technology integration. Specifically, Lawrence was responsible
for all aspects of the critical care platform, (LSTAT) including
the development of advanced sensor and telemetry systems: implementation
of organizational management and the acceptance and utilization
of this combat casualty care technology within the current “Objective
Force Warrior” combat medical structure. He served as
a primary liaison with private, public, military and Congressional
medical activities for this program. Additionally, he managed
the logistics, procurement requirements and deployment processes
for the LSTAT program for deployment in support of “Operation
Iraqi Freedom” and “Operation Enduring Freedom”.
Lawrence also coordinated the combat casualty care program
matrix (LSTAT) for the US Virgin Islands Army National Guard
Territorial Emergency Management Administration and Homeland
Security.
Lawrence earned a B.S. in Health Care and
Business Management from the University of Maryland and a Masters
Degree in Homeland Security and
Health Care Management. He is affiliated with the Medical Group
Management Association and is a life member of the Dust Off
Association (aviation). Lawrence attended many professional
leadership and development courses doing his tenure in the
United States Army.
