Pertti J. Jalasvirta
Pertti Jalasvirta has over twenty years of professional experience
in government affairs, resource management, and administrative
management, and planning and organizational development in
military medicine and hospital level relations. He brings to
PAL a broad background of international experience from both
the civilian and military medical communities.
Pertti is the President and CEO of Fuchs Medical Ltd.; a Nordic
based European medical supply and service company. He held
various positions of increasing responsibility in the company
rising to Vice President and General Manager prior to purchasing
the company in 1989.
Fuchs Medical specializes in sales, distribution, and service
of medical systems throughout the Nordic region and Europe.
Their gross sales exceed $5 million per year. They also have
a medical technology division allowing them to take existing
medical equipment and expand its capabilities modifying them
for greater interoperability with other medical systems. Since
1985, they have specialized in telemedicine capabilities and
in the development and equipping of field hospitals for the
Finnish Defense Forces. Fuchs Medical is the only medical equipment
supplier in Finland that holds the NATO AQAP quality system
certification.
Pertti is also a highly decorated Medical Service Corps Reserve
Warrant Officer and is currently responsible for the development
and testing of new medical equipment and emerging technologies
for the Finnish Defense Forces. Additionally, he plays a major
role in the Finnish Defense Forces’ development of techniques,
and procedures and logistical integration of procured medical
equipment.
He has been widely recognized for his contributions to the
medical industry, both nationally and internationally. Pertti
has established close working relationships with major medical
equipment and component manufacturers through the Nordic region
as well as Europe and the United States.
Pertti has been awarded a Masters degree in Business Administration
from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
